Bright Futures Farm is an equine charity whose primary focus is re-homing off the track Thoroughbreds…horses that can no longer race due to disinterest or injury. Once deemed “unprofitable” by their owners, tens of thousands each year are sent to auction with the owner knowing full-well that the majority will be purchased by “kill buyers” for slaughter (for human consumption overseas).
Our dedication has grown to include providing sanctuary for older horses that are unwanted after their “useful years” are over, including older stallions that cannot be gelded due to the risk of complications. We are one of only two known facilities in the United States that accept senior stallions.
We are always in need of foster homes. When you foster a horse you help us save one more from harm. Fostering expenses are tax-deductible. If you have room, please ask us about our foster program. |

These young cats are living in an abandoned house near Kittanning, PA. Former owner had been doing his best to care for them, but has no transportation now to feed them. The road will NOT be accessible after the snow lays, so we MUST remove them all by the first of the week (1/23/12). We have removed 8 so far and have homes waiting for 14 total. We need homes or foster homes for 15. Those that we have no homes for will be euthanized. We have no choice. We have nowhere to permanently house them and they will starve to death if left where they are, through winter. PLEASE help if you can.
What we need help with short-term:

When you adopt a horse you save two lives. You save the life of the one you adopt, and you make room for one more at our farm. Please consider adoption before you buy. HAVE YOU SEEN ME...? DID YOU BUY ME...? Darlin was last seen on August 21, 2004 at the Florida Classic Horse Sale in Ocala. Cathy Wyckoff of Ocala traded her to Norm Franklin, a dealer from Ocala. Norm was not willing to provide us with any information when we contacted him. We know he sold her and believe she could still be in Florida or Georgia. Click her photo for more information.
