Visualization of the Scores
Each area of the body described in the chart on the previous page carries a separate score. Once each area has been scored, the numbers are added together and divided by six (six areas to score). The numbers below represent the scores for the horses shown.

(once we scraped the caked manure
and old hair off of this guy, his ribs were visibly prominent, his tailhead was
prominent and we could see the spinous process, with a lack of fat buildup, and
count the vertebrae, his hip bones had not yet become pointed, and there still
was some fat behind his shoulder although there was none around his withers).

Complete vet clearance as healthy and well nourished. Of good weight for
the arthritic condition that developed in the horses' spine near croup as the
result of what the woman who surrendered the horse said was a "bad fall".
We won the case against Mary Fettis and Barry Fettis of Freedom, PA . On
Feb 7, 2005 they were found guilty on two counts of cruelty to animals at the
Beaver, PA Magistrate's office.
