Adopting a horse that has been rescued by Bright Futures Farm

is both wonderful and fulfilling! Will you open your heart and home

and give one of our very special horses a Bright Future?

It's a sad fact that most of the horses that come through our doors have been shuffled from

place to place and have come from very sad situations. Our mission is to not only rescue these

special horses, but it's vital that we find each one of them loving, forever homes.

Will you give one of our horses a loving home?

HOW TO FOSTER

Adopting A Bright Futures Farm Horse

We are so excited that you've chosen to adopt one of our wonderful horses! It's important you understand that most of the horses that come through our doors have been shuffled from place to place, so they need a loving, forever home where they will be safe and secure. Our goal is to find each of our horses a place like this.  If you are looking for a horse that will become a member of your family, we may have the right horse for you.  But if you are looking for a horse as a resale project, or a horse for a child until they “leave the nest,” we are not the right resource for you. Also, should circumstances arise in the future that prevent you from keeping one of our horses (a move, health issues, financial issues, etc.), our contract requires you to contact us and arrange the return of the horse to our program.

In our adoption forms, we ask many questions and practice full disclosure to ensure that the horse is the right fit for your needs and you are a right fit for the horse. If you are comfortable with this information and have found a horse on our website you are interested in adopting, please contact us at (724) 496-4960.

Fostering A Bright Futures Horse

Thank you for helping a horse in need through our Foster Program. By sharing your space and time with us, you are helping one more horse find a safe home for the remainder of his/her life. The direct expenses you incur to care for this horse, as well as the cost of your time, at fair market value, may be tax deductible as a charitable contribution on your Federal Income Tax return.  Please consult your tax advisor for details. Our FEIN is on all receipts we provide to contributors/foster families.

It is very difficult to find good homes for horses, temporarily or permanently.  Therefore, when you agree to help us, by fostering a horse, we ask you to provide us with sixty days notice if your circumstances change and you can no longer continue to care for the horse.  We ask for this sixty day commitment, so that we have time to locate, screen and approve a new foster or permanent home for the horse.

If you'd like to foster a rescued horse, please contact us at (724) 496-4960.
