Bright Futures Farm is a sanctuary for retired Thoroughbreds.  We find homes for many horses that have the potential for a new career as a trail horse or family pleasure mount.   Our focus is to save as many horses as we can before  they are faced with neglect or auction.

We are always in need of foster homes.  When you foster a horse you help us save one more from harm.  Fostering expenses are tax-deductible.  If you have room, please ask us about our foster program.

Cowboy. "Stetson"

1997 dark brown Thoroughbred or Thoroughbred cross.  16.1 hands. Small star.  Stetson came to us due to blindness in one eye, and an inability for him to cope with the lack of vision (he was a show jumper prior to coming to our organization).  A professional trainer, Lori O'Neil offered to retrain him, and after spending just a short time with him, fell in love with him and asked if she could adopt him.  Within two months he was trail riding with her, no longer shying to the point of unseating his rider, and he fell for Lori as well.  What a great beginning for a horse who had to end his career in the show ring.
