|
BIDDING 1. Horses whose adoption fees will be auctioned will have "Starting Bid" at the bottom of their bios on the web page "Available Horses". 2. Horses that are not part of the auction will simply have their "Adoption Fee" listed. 3. A "Starting Bid" is the minimum we will accept as an adoption fee for that particular horse. 4. You must be at least 21 years old and be gainfully employed to submit a bid. 5. You may bid as often as you like if you see a particular horse you wish to adopt. 6. If you try to "hedge" a bid - bid on two different horses in the hope of getting one of them - DON'T. Be fair to us. If you bid on two and win both bids, we assume that you want "both" horses. 7. If you are serious about any particular horse, email us and we will send you the personality/training information we have on that horse for you to review. Most of these horses are not "finished". You should either have training experience or be able to hire a professional trainer to finish the horse for you. 8. You can phone a bid, or email us your bid. The web site will updated nightly with most recent bid, bidders initials and state they reside in. 9. Therefore, when placing a bid, we will need the following information (you can cut and paste this into your email and fill in the blanks or leave it in your phone message): Your name, address, phone number, and "bid". our phone number is: 814-827-8270 our email for bids is: bevdee1@earthlink.net 10. DO NOT place a bid unless you have the funds to cover that adoption fee and unless you are serious about following through with the adoption at the close of bidding. We are serious about moving these horses into good permanent homes quickly so that we have room for the lay-ups waiting to come for the winter and we need to know you are serious too. 11. Bidding will start at 12:01 am on Monday October 1, 2006 EST, and end on Monday, October 30, 2006 at 5:00 PM EST. This will give you plenty of time to get your paperwork in and transportation at least tentatively arranged. If we have more than one bidder the same winning bid at the close of bidding, the "winning" bidder will be the first to have submitted that bid. 12. We have volunteers who post our horses on internet classified listings for us. If you see a horse with a set adoption fee on the internet, disregard that information. Bidding is in effect for the next 30 days.
RULES 1. This is an adoption not a purchase. You are bidding on "the adoption fee", not the horse. 2. You must have all of your adoption paperwork into us as soon as you know you want a particular horse - even if bidding is still open. We will NOT charge an application fee prior to the close of bidding. If you are the high bidder, your application fee of $18 will be added to the amount you owe us for the adoption. If you are not a winning bidder, we will retain your application on file for one year, and if you choose to adopt at a later date, we will apply the application fee to your adoption fee at that time. If you are not sure what paperwork you need to provide, ask us. 3. If you are the winning bidder, you will be notified on Tuesday, October 31, 2006. 4. Adoption fee, application fee and any additional charges (coggins, board, etc - described below) must be paid in full prior to transport. The horse does not leave our property until all paperwork is in order and all monies have been paid. You will be given a final figure (minus any potential board) on Tuesday, Oct, 31. 5. Payment can be made by money order, certified bank check (recognized US banks only), or cash. You may use paypal to make your payment, but you will be charged an additional 5% of the total to cover our cost to use that method. If you choose paypal as your preferred method of payment, send payment to: bdee@brightfuturesfarm.org 6. All monies are in U.S. funds. 7. You must arrange transport as soon as you have been notified you are the winning bidder. Once your application is approved, you will have five calendar days to pick up the horse with no additional charge for board. If the horse is still here the sixth day you will also owe board of $7 per day until you pick up the horse. All monies must be paid prior to transport. Deposits are void during the auction. We will only accept payment in full at the close of bidding. 8. All horses have a current negative coggins prior to arriving at Bright Futures Farm. However, once here, their coggins can expire. If the horse you choose has a current coggins, we will provide you that at no additional charge. If the horse needs a current coggins, you will be responsible for that cost ($65 max. If we need to draw more than one coggins, we will split the cost of the farm call between those individuals). If the horse is being transported out of state, a health certificate is also required. As of now, our vet does not charge for those. 9. All horses are up to date on shots and farrier. All horses at our main facility have also just had their annual dental exam on September 26, 2006. 10. Existing adopters need not complete a second application. You will only be required to complete an adoption contract/new boarding addendum (if applicable) for the new horse. 11. Please direct any questions to the phone number or email address in the box above.
Thank you and Happy Bidding!
