Bright Futures Farm is an equine charity whose primary focus is re-homing off the track Thoroughbreds...horses that can no longer race due to disinterest or injury…horses unwanted by their owners and sent to auction where most are purchased for slaughter.  Our dedication has grown to include providing sanctuary for older horses that are unwanted after their "useful years" are over, including older stallions that cannot be gelded due to the risk of complications.

We are always in need of foster homes.  When you foster a horse you help us save one more from harm.  Fostering expenses are tax-deductible.  If you have room, please ask us about our foster program.

At The Track

These Thoroughbreds are either located at their respective tracks, or at a farm nearby and need re-homed quickly.  All are offered on a first right of refusal contract and are placed with you "as is".  If you cannot continue rehab of an injured horse, please don't contact us.  Some will need time off, some will need rehab.  We will provide all of the information we receive about each horse.  Horses in rehab will be fine for trail riding/flatwork, etc. with the appropriate time off and appropriate post injury care.  Stallions must be gelded within 2 weeks of their arrival at your facility, and we do require that we can confirm the appointment with your vet, and that we receive a copy of the receipt showing the castration was performed.  Failure to comply will result in confiscation of the stallion.
