Bright Futures Farm is an equine charity whose primary focus is re-homing off the track Thoroughbreds...horses that can no longer race due to disinterest or injury. Being situated in a rural farming community has made us very aware of the lack of respect that exists for companion animals, barn cats in particular.  The faces you see on this page are all the product of our community's concept of natural selection and survival of the fittest.  Other than my two personal cats, Harry and Pumpkin, all of these cats were feral migrants who chose to reside in our barn for shelter at one time or another.  Many are elders.  Some were born here.  We are proud to say every single cat we have helped is spayed or neutered and in the last three years, we have only seen three feral cats wandering in the area.  Unfortunately none stayed long enough for us to help them.

If you are a cat lover, as we are, please consider a donation to assist with the care of these wonderful creatures who now make their home at Bright Futures Farm, or adopting a cat or kitten in need.

We are always in need of foster homes. When you foster a cat or kitten you help us save one more from harm.  Fostering expenses are tax-deductible.  If you have room, please ask us about our foster program.

Available Kittens & Cats

All of the kittens and cats on this page are available to adopt.  While waiting for their forever homes, they can also be sponsored.  All cats should have an annual wellness exam and an annual dental exam.  Many of the cats in our program will be due for their annual exams in May 2011.  The average cost for a wellness exam is $100, and for a dental exam/cleaning is $90.  Please consider sponsoring a cat or kitten and help with their ongoing expenses until they find their forever homes.  You can find out more about sponsorships at the bottom of this page.

Chloe is a beautiful short hair male.  He's one of my helpers.. the ones who always help me clean the litter box, or sweep the floor or change the water in the bowls.  He's one of the larger kittens in the litter and has a wonderful personality.  He's a love and will jump onto my lap without using his claws.  He's a very happy kitten and his actions and mannerisms remind me so much of my sweet Chloe who passed this January.

Noir (N'whar) is a beautiful black short hair male.  He is always curions, brave and loving.  He loves attention and will purr from the minute I walk in the door.  He loves to hug and doesn't use his claws.

Pepper Pepper is one of the shy, unassuming ones.  He loves to be caressed, but he waits his turn for attention.  He loves to play and has a wonderful personality.

Quino (Keeno) Quino is a very loving girl.  She's always there to greet me, ask for a rub and watch everything I do.  Quino is always purring and loves to play.  She's a healthy happy short hair girl looking for a loving home.  She is spayed and utd on shots and de-worming.

Salt Salt is a beautiful girl. She's eager to be held and loves attention.  She will talk to me until I pick her up.  She's also a short hair and one of the larger kittens in the litter.

Sand is a beautiful long hair girl.  She is always talking to me and loves to be held and cuddled.  When she's not talking, she's purring.  Sand is a real love.

Scrappy Doo was so named because she's the smallest in the group, and she's also the bravest.  As a baby she would pick on the other kittens (in a playful way) until they would roughhouse with her...  She is a beautiful short hair with a great personality and loved to be rubbed.
