Bright Futures Farm is an equine charity whose primary focus is re-homing off the track Thoroughbreds...horses that can no longer race due to disinterest or injury…horses unwanted by their owners and sent to auction where most are purchased for slaughter. Our dedication has grown to include providing sanctuary for older horses that are unwanted after their "useful years" are over, including older stallions that cannot be gelded due to the risk of complications. We are always in need of foster homes. When you foster a horse you help us save one more from harm. Fostering expenses are tax-deductible. If you have room, please ask us about our foster program. |

H There are a number of forms you may need to complete the adoption process. Everyone will need to complete the adoption application, contract, references & medical release. If you are not keeping the horse you adopt on "your" property, you will need to provide us with a copy of your boarding agreement, and complete a Boarding Addendum (even if the property is owned by a good friend or family member). If you have any questions regarding anything at all (definitions, clarification, etc.) prior to adoption, simply ask. Once we receive signed documents from you, we believe that you have read, understand and agree to comply with the content of each document. If the horse you adopt has a medical issue, needs rehab, or nutritional/medical supplements, we will provide you with a Medical Addendum for that particular horse. If you have a co-applicant or a spouse or domestic partner, that individual will also need to read, sign and initial where indicated on each document. If there is no link to the form you need, please contact us...the site is under construction. FORMS IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO FOSTER A HORSE: Fostering Application/Agreement Note regarding reference form: If you are even slightly uncomfortable providing this form to your vet and/or farrier, please reconsider applying for adoption with us. We ask specific questions to ensure that our horses will be well cared for when we place them in a new home.
