Gordy's Progress

The photos are in chronological order.  I will post additional photos every 7-10 days initially, and monthly after the first couple of months. 

Gordy's arrival 8/2/07

Gordy is a Henneke 1

The trailer ride was a nightmare.  More on that by going to our home page, and clicking the photo of Daphne.  Gordy, Tiny and Daphne were supposed to have a one way ride from Catlett Va (am pickup on 7-30-07) and pm delivery same day.  Pickup was 7-31-07 at 10pm, and delivery was 8-2-07 at 1:30 am.  That means these two (remember there were supposed to be three) horses, Tiny and Gordy were on the trailer for 27 1/2 hours with outside temps reaching 100+ during the day.

Gordy 8-12-07

He's finding it easier to move around.  When he first arrived, he would trip when he walked.  He was badly in needed of a pedicure.  After his trim, we didn't see him trip nearly as much, Not much noticeable difference in his frame yet though.

Gordy 8-24-07

Ribs have started to fill in from the bottom up.  Better attitude, brighter eyes, a little bit more energy.

Gordy 9-02-07

Gordy is filling out very nicely around the ribs.  There's some muscle buildup in the hip area now too!  He's looking and acting more like he should now.  The little building behind him is our "cat" house.

Gordy 9/30/07

Gordy has so much more energy.   He's very alert, very opinionated.  Canters and trots around more than ever before.  He's gained 190 pounds since he arrived (as of 9-30).  I'd have liked him to gain slightly more, but he's doing very well considering he's lost most of his  molars and chewing is an issue.  He's starting to take the shape of a horse again!  His hips and legs are filling out and he's stronger physically today than he was even two weeks ago.

Gordy 10/15/07

I do need to take more photos.  He's doing well.  Weight gain is slower now, and he's just got such a personality!  He's really showing us who he is now.  Very opinionated, sometimes grumpy (he's allowed to be), and sometimes very affectionate.   Hopefully, I'll get some new photos up this weekend.
