Hi Bev,

I just wanted to let you know that I started riding again last Saturday.  I had a lesson on Simmer Saturday then went for our first trail ride on Sunday.  What a sweetheart.  We were out for about 3 hours, she had never been over that ground before, but she was perfect.  The other horses, who have been over the terrain many times, were spooking and refusing to cross the water puddles.  Simmer went right to the lead and not only did she cross the water, she wanted to play in it.  She was just a delight.  I couldn't ask for a better horse.  Everyone who sees her compliments her on her beautiful face and the elegant way she carries herself.  She is doing extremely well with Natural Horsemanship training and ground work and her pleasant personality and natural curiosity are just awesome.  If you happen to come across a horse that is maybe a little older, of stocky build that could support 220 pounds, not too tall and suitable for an older beginner, please let me know.  Rick is interested in learning to ride.  He hasn't been on a horse since childhood and has had back surgery but he wants to learn to ride, just at a walk, so he can ride with me.  There are very few people who I would trust to find a horse for Rick but I trust you completely.  My trainer said that Simmer looked as though she had lost a few pounds so we've increased her grain to 8 pounds plus her normal hay and pasture.  Anita thought it could be partly because the pasture is about done and also the anxiety of moving and settling in.  She gets along very well with all the other horses but she is a little hyper when she is in the barn eating. She keeps going to the window between every mouthful to make sure her friends are still there.  She eats slowly though, which is great.  I still have to get the pictures developed but I'll get them to you ASAP.  Thanks again.

Have a great day,
Gail
