DONATE A HORSE |

Thank you for considering donation. All horses deserve a second chance. Donating your horse to a reputable organization such as Bright Futures Farm ensures that your horse will remain safe the remainder of his her life. All adoption programs are different. Bright Futures Farm retains ownership of the horse on paper for life, and if the adopter can no longer keep the horse, we will find him/her a new home. Not all agencies will provide that kind of contract. Many agencies transfer ownership to the adopter after one or two years, and some, while they say they will follow up on the horses after adoption, simply don't have time. WE MAKE TIME. It's part of who we are and our commitment to the horse. So, if you are looking at more than one agency, please read their adoption paperwork as well as the donation paperwork to ensure that you understand how their program works. Don't be afraid to ask questions and don't be afraid to ask for references. I've dealt with two agencies that are "supposed" to be charities that work "for" the horse. Neither did, although they claim to. The first I cannot mention because I have no paperwork to prove what I've found out through first hand experience. However, the second I can name because we took them to court for cruelty to animals in 2005 and won. You can read about the second "non profit organization" by clicking here.
