             FUNDRAISING LINKS

iGive

By using the links on this page  you can help us raise the funds needed to continue our mission.  You can shop at National Chains, or shop for gourmet coffees or tack.  Each merchant will make a donation to Bright Futures Farm each time you shop.  All you have to do is change the way your shop.

Many of these merchants provide free shipping, and discounts or coupons so that you will come back again.  Take a minute and go to the web site: www.iGive.com .  You will be amazed at the number of well-known stores that participate. Then, take a look at the additional fundraising links we have.  Tell a friend how then can help our organization without ever writing us a check.  They simply have to make some of their purchases on line.

If you would like to help us through iGive, and have not registered with them, use the link below.  It's easy and secure.

http://www.iGive.com/html/refer.cfm?causeid=19816

Every time you go to iGive.com to make purchases, you will be 'remembered', and you just need to navigate the pages to shop at the stores of your choice, and any purchases will automatically create a credit to Bright Futures Farm.

We average 500 hits on our web site a day.  If just 100 of us used the on line links every time we shopped for something from any of these merchants, it is estimated that Bright Futures Farm would earn at least $250 a month to help with the care of the horses.  Our spring shots alone will total well over $500, and our dental bill will be an additional $700.  You can help pay those bills by simply shopping for what you can on line.  Registration with any of these merchants is fast and easy (and there are no fees or monthly charges), and all have secure sites for on line transactions.  Take a moment to browse the links.  I think you'll be amazed at the products and services that are available.

Country Supply will donate 5% of your purchase to our organization.  Simply go to www.countrysupply.com Donations only apply if you order on line.  When you are ready to check out (just before you submit your order) there will be a box labeled "Country Supply Code" type : Bright Futures Farm.  That tells them that you want 5% of your total order to be donated to Bright Futures Farm.  Their prices are in line with all the other major retailers of equine products, and like many others, they have on line specials.  They also have FREE SHIPPING on orders over $50 (details on their site).

              RESOURCES

Thoroughbred Help Line

www.thoroughbredhelp-line.com  a great resource for the Thoroughbred owner.  Amy Kiefer has extensive experience training Thoroughbreds and offers an invaluable service to the horse owner by sharing her skills, understanding and teaching methods to Thoroughbred owners, especially those who have never owned or worked with a Thoroughbred before.

www.petboro.com  A nationwide pet resource directory for all species and breeds.

Natural Trim Hoof Care

(Mustang Trim)

www.naturaltrimhoofcare.com  another fantastic resource for any horse owner.  Donn Egidio told me about the Mustang Trim in the fall of 2005.  He asked if he could work with two of my horses.  Brite Decision, the first horse I adopted and the real "founder" of Bright Futures Farm, had foundered before I adopted him.  Maggie, a Paint mare who is available to adopt came to us with Navicular syndrome.  Donn told me about the trim, then gave me the links to several web sites so that I could research the technique and better understand the mechanics of the horses' foot.  Donn began trimming Brite and Maggie in the fall of 2005, and has made great progress with the soundness of each horse.  Here is what has happened in the last six months:

Their hoof walls have thickened.  Any white line separation that we observed initially, has slowly disappeared.

►   Small cracks have almost disappeared, large cracks have stopped growing.  There is no chipping of the outside hoof wall because the edges are beveled.

►   Their soles are becoming harder and more concave.

►►  But most importantly, they are markedly more sound, and Brite is almost healed.

The Mustang Trim should not be confused with "a natural trim" or a "square toe" trim.  It is an entirely different technique.
