WYETH & NAERIC PURPORTEDLY STOP AID TO RANCHERS SELLING PMU HORSES TO RESCUES & RESCUES ATTEMPTING TO PURCHASE PMU HORSES/FOALS It has been reported that Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and NAERIC (North American Equine RAnching Information Council) have changed their policies regarding the disposition of unviable PMU mares and stallions, and the approximately 30,000 foals born each year as a result of the demand for their products, Premarin, being the most well known of their HRT's. The report purports that Wyeth has elected to no longer allow PMU farmers to sell their horses to rescue organizations. It is also reported that NAERIC has elected to reduce or eliminate subsidies which were previously available to rescue or placement organizations. If you would like to sign the petition to 'demand' Wyeth and NAERIC cease enforcement of any current policies, and refrain from establishing future policies that would interfere in any way with the efforts of PMU farmers to sell these horses to rescues, go to: http://www.petitiononline.com/XE3/petition.html In addition to their HRT's (Prempro, Premphase, Premarin), some of the products Wyeth manufactures are: Chapstick, Advil, Anbesol, Dimetapp, Robitussin & Preparation H, to name a few
